President and CEO Douglas F.
DiVello posed as a weight lifter to
promote heart health during the
Malone Winter Carnival Parade.
Dressed to the tens
We salute Brianna Warren for wearing
red on Feb. 7, which was the 10th
anniversary of National Wear Red Day
for women’s heart-health awareness.
The No. 1 cause of death for both men
and women, heart disease kills 1 out
of 3 women. As part of our promotion
of heart health, Alice Hyde Medical
Center asked people to post photos
of themselves dressed in red on
Facebook.
From the
President
and CEO
Since 1913, Alice Hyde Medical Center
has played a role in the North Country’s
life that only a hospital can. We’ve
helped thousands of people come into
the world, then cared for them through
every chapter of their lives. We’ve seen
Malone grow frommodest beginnings
into being home to nearly 15,000 people.
Today, the Medical Center is
thriving, with facilities throughout the
region dedicated to bringing superior,
comprehensive care to everyone who
steps though our doors. Whatever the
hour. Whatever the need. Just as we
have for more than 100 years.

F. DiVello,

Employees with heart
Alice Hyde Medical Center employees took to the streets on Feb. 1 to kick o American
Heart Month by participating in the Malone Winter Carnival Parade with a “Celebrating a
Healthy Heart” oat. President and CEO Douglas F. DiVello was a hit as a weight lifter, and
walkers accompanying the oat handed out helium- lled balloons and small gifts for kids
along with heart-health tips for the adults.
All February long, the Medical Center reached
out to the community to create heart-health
awareness by submitting articles to the local
newspaper and providing healthy recipes and
tips on Facebook. We also conducted our annual
employee “Wear Red” photo shoot on Feb. 7 for the
10th anniversary of this heart and women’s health
awareness day. Thirteen local businesses encouraged awareness as well by selling paper
hearts for $1 in support of local cardiac services.
We are grateful for the e ort and participation that all businesses showed with this
project. North Franklin Credit Union of 494 E. Main St., Malone, sold the highest number of
paper hearts and went the extra mile by matching the sale dollar for dollar.
